I am a Professor of Technology Law in the Macquarie University Law School. I’m interested in understanding how emerging and evolving technologies are governed by law.

My research focuses on analysing how laws apply to new technologies and developing options for reform. I apply my knowledge of data privacy, cyber security and AI law to assist technical experts embed regulatory considerations into the design of networks and systems to support ‘privacy by design’ and ‘compliance by design’. Applications of my research include government and private consultancies, as well as invited contributions to federal law reform inquiries in digital privacy, digital competition, telecommunications and other areas of law.
