I am a Professor in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences and a Fellow of Optica, SPIE and the Royal Society of NSW. I’m interested in designing and optimising future free space optical communication systems.

My research focuses on nanophotonics: that is light-matter interactions at the nanoscale, applied to communications and sensing. I design and characterise nanophotonic devices and I apply my background in lasers, plasmonics and nanotechnology to create systems that can control and manipulate light for specific purposes. Applications of my research include spatial division multiplexing to improve optical communications bandwidths.
